Bie Bostrom - President
Following a career as a professional photographer, Bie joined the Peace Corps in 2004 working in Ahero, Kenya where she viewed first-hand one particular outcome of Africa's AIDS crisis - the fact that the devastation of the middle generation left grandmothers often raising multiple grandchildren. In response, she established “Grandmothers raising Grandchildren” to continue assisting Ahero's grandmothers and the orphaned children they are raising. Bie lives in Walnut Creek, California.

Ann Marie Marciarille - Secretary
Ann Marie is a practicing health law and elder law attorney. She lives in Lafayette, California with her family.

Elaine Neufeldt - Treasurer
Elaine became involved with Grandmothers Raising Grandchildren after being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. She is currently retired in Walnut Creek, California after careers in medical technology and accounting.

Sue Johansen - Member
Sue is a retired English teacher and insurance analyst living in Walnut Creek, California. As a mother and grandmother, she has a lifelong interest in nurturing and educating the young.

Bonnie Larson-Brogdon - Member
Bonnie was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras where she was an environmental educator and conducted wildlife surveys provided for local government and NGOs. Currently she works for the Georgia Department of Education, in the Migrant Education Program.

Rae Ann Suter Mathews - Member
Rae Ann is a retired elementary school reading specialist living in Reno, Nevada. She is a grandmother of two who continues to support children in success with literacy skills.

Claudia Tierney - Member
Formerly a career in corporate communications, Claudia is retired and lives in Walnut Creek, California.
